Setting up the Day for Success

One thing I find, for me at least, is if my morning starts good, my day goes well. And alternately, if my day starts like shit, the rest of my day is shit. I think that’s what happened on Monday; shit sleep, slept in, felt rushed, inadequate meals prepped, etc.

Last night I prepped my breakfast, I had a good sleep, despite having bad dreams, and I woke up relatively close to my regular time, so I didn’t feel as rushed. This is how I like to start my mornings – minus the crappy dreams!

When I got to work, the first thing I did was fill up my water bottles and make a tea. Another thing I find is if I don’t drink enough water, I get cravings. On the really bad days, I frequently drink less than 2L of water and most is at home after I get home from work (Like Monday). On good days, I drink closer to 5L (if not more)

Being prepared for the day is half of success. If you wake up with no idea what you’re doing, you’re going to wander around aimlessly. If you don’t have meals planned out, then you’re more likely to eat too much of the wrong types of food. Planning, I have found, is more economical and less stressful. If you do up a calendar with what you’re eating, you’ll save time and money at the grocery store, and less stress at the end of a busy day!
